Know Your Rights and Seek Help
Victims of any crime are eligible to be provided services of information, resources, food, clothing, shelter, community outreach, victim advocacy, safety plans, court system advocacy, victim compensation or accompaniment to hospitals for medical examinations.
Services are provided with fairness and respect for the victims dignity and privacy.
Who is Eligible?
Victims of any crime which include but are not limited to:
- Child physical abuse and neglect
- Elder abuse/neglect
- Sexual Abuse
- Domestic and or family violence
- Arson
- Bullying Stalking
- Burglary
- Homicide
- Identify Theft
- Court order violation
Services Provided: Emergency services to victims such as resources, food, clothing and shelter, community outreach, victim advocacy, safety plans, court system advocacy, accompaniment to hospitals for medical examinations.
As a victim of crime, you might qualify for financial assistance for a variety of needs resulting from your victimization. Qualifying uses vary from state to state but commonly medical bills, funeral or counseling expenses are covered. Compensation is managed on a state level and LIFT CAA Victim Services can assist you with obtaining and completing these forms.

Victim’s Rights
- The right to request that charges be pressed against your assailant.
- The right to request protection from any harm or threat of harm arising out of cooperation with law enforcement and prosecution efforts and to be provided with information on the level of protection available.
- The right to be informed of financial assistance and other social services available, including information on how to apply for the assistance and services.
- The right to file a petition for a protective order or, when the court is not open for business, an emergency temporary protective order.
Victim Services Coordinator Duties
Duties Include:
- Respond to emotional and physical needs of crime victims.
- Assist primary and secondary victims of crime to stabilize their lives after victimization
- Assist victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system
- Provide the victims of crime a measure of safety and security
- Assistance with Victim compensation Claim Forms and Victim Restitution Recovery Forms
